Meteor Shower 12-13th August 2022

Tonight and tomorrow there will be one of the biggest meteor showers visible this year. They are part of the Perseid Meteor Shower. On both of these dates, the Earth will pass through them. Although they should be visible anywhere in the sky, they will originate out of the the constellation of Perseus. At their peak, between 60 – 100 meteors could be visible. Of course, the vast majority will burn up in the upper atmosphere and it is very unlikely any pieces will reach the surface. The weather forecast is that much of the UK should remain cloud free tonight. However, the only drawback is that we shall have a full moon on both nights. But many meteors will be visible. The temperature will also be quite warm. Good luck.
